Firewall is the app Macworld calls “Kryptonite for unwanted calls”. From the makers of the award-winning Burner app, Firewall blocks automated robocalls and spam calls by screening *all* of your calls except those from people you explicitly want to ring your phone. Firewall is the only app built to handle the state of spam today. “My phone hasn't rung once. I couldn't be happier” - CNET “A radical option to crack down on robocalls” - Axios Telemarketers have made incoming calls frustrating and dangerous. Even legitimate calls from your cable company or gym are often unwanted disruptions. Firewall forwards all your calls to our servers in the cloud, and we forward the ones from people you know via in-app calling to your phone. Firewall will also optionally filter SMS messages. Most robocall blocker apps try to determine phone numbers used by spammers, but telemarketers and spammers don’t always use the same numbers, or they figure out devious ways to spoof Caller ID to get around being blocked. With Firewall, we built a call blocking app that works the opposite way: you create a list of people you want to be able to ring your phone, and only those calls ring through (via in-app / VoIP calling), while all others get blocked or sent to voicemail. Our best-in-class voicemail transcription lets you quickly see who called you and what they wanted, so you can determine if you want to call them back or not. Firewall stops unwanted disruptions and puts you back in control over your phone. Access Firewall’s free robocall and SMS spam blocker trial for 14 days, during which you can opt-out of the subscription and won’t be charged. A subscription is required to access the service after the free trial. Firewall is only available for Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint customers. Firewall is built by the same company that makes Burner, the #1 second phone number app. Unlike many other companies we place your privacy above all else and never sell any of your data or anything else that would compromise your privacy. Benefits: - 100% guaranteed to stop robocalls and block spam calls - Eliminate disruptions from legal but annoying calls (car dealers, gym salespeople, etc) - Easily pause blocking if you are expecting an important call from an unknown number - Make anonymous outbound “Burner” calls to untrusted numbers - protect your phone number! - Privacy-centric - we don’t upload your contact book to our servers like some other robocall blockers, all call blocking is handled locally on your device - A U.S. based, seasoned customer service team ready for your questions 7 days per week In-App Purchases: Firewall is a free download, with a free trial period to use the app risk-free before purchasing the service. If you purchase the service, you will be charged a monthly price. The price will always be shown in the app before you complete a purchase. Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. Your Firewall subscription automatically renews at the end of every billing period and your iTunes account will automatically be charged within 24 hours PRIOR to the end of the current period. You can turn off auto-renew at any time from your iTunes Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable. Terms of Service: Privacy Policy:

  • Not great.

    By App Reviewer 007
Let me preface this review as "this app did not work for me" however, it may work for you? Firewall blocks any number or SMS (if you set it up) that is not whitelisted. I am a consultant and travel extensively. Firewall's approach for me is too limiting; for instance, I had to use an SMS text system that randomizes their numbers for each message, which was a nightmare with Firewall. I could reply to one message and not the other etc. The other problem stemmed from the fact that all calls forwarded through Firewall's VOIP telephone system, the call quality for me, was inferior, and is not easily switched to a mobile carrier during the call. To my understanding, they are working on it. I felt like I was paying to be a beta tester when using the Firewall app.
  • Poor

People cannot hear me with this stupid app!!! What is the number you call to stop forwarding call with AT&T ##21# or is it ##24# it’s a good try firewall with poor results
  • The perfect app!

    By Drscooby68
I’m still in the trial period, but if it keeps working the way it has been so far it will be worth the 4 bucks! I had to change my number because my phone was blowing up with unknown numbers. I tried 2 other apps and they didn’t do what I wanted. I’m a private person; I don’t want anyone calling me unless I gave them my number. This app is a dream! Strange numbers don’t even ring! I have peace and quiet now! UPDATE: My only complaint is people can’t hear me when I answer the phone. I hear them saying “hello” over and over until one of us hangs up. I immediately call them back. If that’s the only issue, it’s still worth the $4 in my case. I don’t get enough legitimate phone calls for this to be a real problem.
  • Rip off

When I try to log in a pop up comes on that says I have to fix my international settings. My international setting are turned on. I can’t even log in much less cancel this crappy app. This is going to take hours of my life to figure out how to cancel so they quit charging me since I can’t log into the app to cancel it.

  • Great Experience

The firewall is working wonderfully. I got more than 30 robot calls a day. I was ready to get a private number. Then I decided to try Firewall. It’s a God send. Thanks, I’ve got to get the rest of my family on it.
  • Poor quality audio / Constant call drops

    By ejcatl
It sure sounded like a good service. It wasn’t. I have a healthy iPhone X running iOS 13.1.3. I have strong LTE service and extremely fast WiFi - north of 300mb/sec. The call quality is consistently fair to poor. And most calls drop between 20-60 seconds into the call. I’ve restarted. I’ve reinstalled. Repeatedly. I turn off Firewall and have no problems. I turn it back on and the problems instantly return. I would give this 0 stars if it were an option. Updated 10/27/2019: So the developer decided to blame their problems on what they suspected was my poor WiFi connection. (Most people that read my review probably wouldn’t feel that >300 Mb/sec was slow, but whatever.) They sent me a nice article on switching to cellular to help me out. Unfortunately for their theory, all of the problems I reported were in my home. Throughout my home, my iPhone X consistently reports speeds of 200-400Mb/sec on the 5 GHz band of a high performance WAP that is fed by gigabit fiber. Presumably this means that you’ll be needing WiFi throughput that is beyond what most cell phones can sustain to make their solution viable. That may somewhat diminish the market for their product. Perhaps the developer could actually read and try to understand problem reports before offering worthless, time-wasting suggestions to their customers. Incredibly, they never even bothered to ask for basic information like the version of iOS that was installed. It’s 13.1.3, for the record. But it’s easier to conjecture about customer WiFi deficiencies than to try to troubleshoot your code. I stand behind my rating of 0 stars.

  • Cannot white list humana transportation

    By LilithJezebel
I regularly use medical transportation through humana. I can call just fine, but they cannot call me because they are in your database as a known robocaller. Even with firewall paused I can't get their calls. Please fix this! They are whitelisted.
